Shout out to our sponsors!

This year marks the fourth edition of Amelia’s Young Highlander Awards

admin By admin - 23.08.2023

This year marks the fourth edition of Amelia’s Young Highlander Awards, but none of this would be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors, some of whom have been with us from the beginning like Caley Timber and Building Supplies, Global Energy Group, Aurora Design Studio and Inverness Trophy Centre.

A very special thank you must go to Caley Timber and Building Supplies, who in addition to being our headline sponsor to help put on the event, is also sponsoring three awards – Amelia’s Keep on Swimming Award, Leo Flett Child of Bravery Award and the Judge’s Inspiring Young Person Award – new for 2023.

Amelia has touched the hearts of so many people and each year her family is humbled by the support shown from businesses across the Highlands for Amelia’s Young Highlander Awards as we aim to recognise and celebrate inspirational young Highlanders.

We thought we’d take the opportunity to share a little bit about our sponsors and thank them for their support.

Behind the scenes

Amelia’s mum Kelly’s A-team ensure that Amelia’s Young Highlander Awards is a success from announcing the nominations to the party on the night. Michelle from Stevenson’s Forge helps drum up sponsors and keeps us all on track; Tim from Aurora Design Studio created our lovely logo (new for this year), website and design work; Helen and Eilidh at Whale-like-fish handle the PR and social media as well as managing the entries and liaising with our judges; Inverness Trophy Centre has provided the trophies for our winners since the beginning; the team at the Drumossie Hotel sponsors our welcome drinks, donate fantastic raffle prizes and put on a great awards ceremony; Cameron from RedBeard Productions produces our video featuring the birthday girl Amelia which we play on the night to update everyone on her progress and her adventures over the last year; Kai from KBE Event Services puts on a great show on the night and then the fantastic Electric Cherries who get everybody on the dancefloor.

This year, we are delighted to welcome radio stars and former presenters of the MFR Breakfast Show, Dan and Grace, who will be our hosts on the night – we can’t wait! Not only that, but thanks to the generous team at Miele’s Gelateria as our dessert sponsor this year, we are looking forward to some delicious ice cream – note to adults – kids go first!

Award sponsors

We are grateful to businesses who are sponsoring an award this year. A big thank you to:

Raffle prizes

Then there are all the businesses who have donated some amazing raffle prizes this year including the Kingsmills Hotel (afternoon tea with bubbles); the Drumossie Hotel (one night dinner, bed and breakfast, afternoon tea with bubbles); Caledonian Holiday Lets (two night stay with hot tub) and Macleod and MacCallum (hamper) to name but a few.

There is still time to get involved! If you are interested in donating a raffle prize or buying a raffle ticket (£2), then just contact Amelia’s mum Kelly at ameliascbu@gmail.com. All money raised will go to Drummond School in Inverness, attended by Amelia, which caters for pupils with additional support needs from nursery through to secondary stage of their education.

For those of you looking forward to Amelia’s Young Highlander Awards ceremony, here’s a video from last year to get you in the mood!
